Michael Self Reloads for Another Run at Daytona Glory
Defending Lucas Oil driven by General Tire 200 winner Michael Self returns to Daytona looking not only for his second consecutive win in the ARCA Racing Series season opener, but to kick his first run at the series championship off on the right foot.
On Friday at Daytona, Self and sponsor Sinclair Lubricants announced that they will join Venturini Motorsports for a full-season effort for the first time in 2019.
Self is already an accomplished driver with a string of success in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. He has eight career NKNPSW wins, and finished a career-best fourth in the series standings in 2012 and 2017.
Self was forced to curtail his racing schedule due to funding issues for a couple of years, focusing on making the most of his limited starts, serving as a driver coach and instructor, and most importantly, trying to build relationships that would allow him to get back behind the wheel full-time.
